Much of downtown Bristol sits inside the Bristol Waterfront Historic District, laid out in 1680 as one of Rhode Island's few planned colonial-era communities and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It runs from the harbor west to Wood Street, between Washington Street and Walker Cove, and includes work by Bristol-born architect Russell Warren. Homes in this area often call for extra care around original trim, window profiles, and proportions during a remodel, and we plan for that from the start.
